Japanese drumming ensemble ShinDaiko, based in Boston, Massachusetts, takes the traditional artistry of Japanese drumming and combines it with modern composition and instrumentation. As a contemporary taiko ensemble, ShinDaiko fuses elements of jazz, rock, and other non-traditionally Asian genres into their pieces and performances. A simple palette of red, black, and gold pay homage to taiko’s traditional elements, while sans-serif typefaces and color blocking bring a boldness to the site layout.
